Itxassou, our home.
From the very first time we came here, we were completely in love. The rolling hills, the river, the peaceful yet lively village—it felt just right.

One of our favorite things to do is pack a simple picnic and enjoy it on a walk or by the little riverside beach. When we eat out, it's often after a day at the beach along the coast. But even here, in this lush green region, you can discover the rich and authentic Basque cuisine.

A few of our favorite spots:

• Maison Bonnet – For a more refined dining experience. Perfect for a special night out or a romantic date.

• Restaurant du Chêne – Just around the corner from us and a go-to place. The terrace is especially lively. In summer, you might catch live jazz on Friday evenings. Honest, tasty food.

• Zuzulua – A 20-minute drive, but absolutely worth it. Cozy atmosphere and delicious food, including fresh wood-fired pizzas. The riverside terrace is lovely. A small tip: ask for a table away from the street.
